A little bit about me...

Hello there, and greetings from Scotland! Let me introduce myself:

I ’m an author living in a wee cottage in tiny town in Galloway, South West Scotland. I have dabbled in many things from air hostess to antiques dealer, but I quite like authoring, and am currently busy writing. That is when I’m not wrestling with my ramshackle cottage, unruly garden and wellness schedule. I swim in the sea with a seal called Seamus, (quite hard to say after a wee dram), because it simply makes me feel better.

Because not so long ago I was very sick, recovering from breast cancer and heart surgery, homeless and terrified about my future. Ultimately, fate and serendipity found me here on the Scottish coast - a journey I detailed in my debut memoir, Devorgilla Days. My work is dedicated to inspiring others to live intentionally

It’s often said it takes a catastrophe to make us realise the true value of life, and now I’m living the life I want to live, one I always dreamed of and worked towards - a cottage by the sea, writing in my studio, watching the sun rise and the stars collide.

Other strings to my bow include public speaking, with (live) TV and Radio experience, chairing literary events, hosting workshops and designing festivals. I have been invited to edit a portfolio of fashion, interior and lifestyle pieces on the luxury curation platform - Shopmy - and am courted by high profile brands on Instagram, where I have 100,000 followers as @poshpedlar

My weekly letter from Scotland - 'Words From the Hart' goes from strength to strength on Substack. (Have you signed up yet?)

If you have decided it's time to become the hero of your own authentic story. If you love literature, beautiful treasure, and seaside whimsy, I invite you to come along for the ride. We can make room for the magic together. x
